CobraMUSH is a variant of pennmush I started back in 2002 along with Ari Johnson and Jamie Warren. After much hard work, its still not where I've always wanted it, still many more things to seek about including more pennmush compatiblity since that is where it roots from, more security, and as more security and flexibility is added I have to look into how to keep the performance being hit that bad. In anycase, the current state it is in, it works very well emulating most PennMUSH worlds, aside from the Inherit flag. The inherit flag's behavior isn't the same as PennMUSH, in CobraMUSH the inherit flag inherits powers from its owner. Take note when setting up your CobraMUSH for the first time, you will need to create a powerless object, an object not to be touched by anyone but also an object with absolutely no powers. In the mush.cnf file you will need to go in & define which object it is under the powerless configuration entry. An extensive @power & @powergroup system is included in this version of CobraMUSH where as you will be able to add and remove powers, however you will need to use god to first assign the powers to powergroup before someone can receive them. Keep in mind, CobraMUSH may not be the simplest platform to use, but it is definetely one of the more secure platforms. Best place to start your help when you bring the game up is 'help division' and go from there. Most of the division tutorial is rather null at this point in time cause as of 0.7 the entire power system was rewritten and the SCed interface to the @division system is seperate, if you would like to get ahold of the SC interface to the division system you may contact me. Before you do anything with cobramush, such as converting a PennMUSH database over make sure you back it up! The conversion process is ONE way, once you convert to a CobraMUSH database you can NOT convert back. Again, have fun and enjoy CobraMUSH.
