jmud is a crufty client for TinyMUD derivatives.  (It used to have
support for LP and others, but that was broken at some point and
nobody's bothered to fix it.)  It grew out of mud.el, but has many
more features, bugs, and questionable design decisions.  The author
(of the new parts) claimed for about a year that he was going to fix
up the design, rewrite things, and so on, before he released a public
version; but eventually he realized he just wasn't, and decided to
make it available, at own risk.

DISCLAIMER: The primary author (eostrom@nic.gac.edu) of jmud is no
longer actively working on the code, and if confronted with bug
reports and suggestions may become violent.  He also reacts negatively
to requests for help or documentation.

He will probably merge in bug fixes and features and such, but might
not, or might take a long time to get around to it.  If someone else
would like to take over this code, that would be Fine With Him.

The other authors, if confronted with any discussion of jmud, will
probably stare blankly at you; although they wrote some of the code,
(a) a lot of it has been ripped out, and (b) what remains of their
code isn't the part you want to complain about.

P.S. This directory may also contain files with minor bug fixes that
haven't yet been merged into the tar file.  You should probably get
those too.
