So anyway, i've got this room speech_prog where after the 'trigger' is

set off, a mob is purged and then another mob is loaded. I'm trying to get

it so the mob that's loaded automatically mpkill $n as soon as its loaded.

Evidently, I can't figure it out, nor can Shin or Archon..  Any idea's?

Just a heads up, the Receptionist is set to aggro on Saiyans and

Halfies, but all the Tuffles' races are set to the default race of Saiyan.


She keeps attacking warriors and stuff.  It'd be nice if that was changed

In the past day or two I've got both the race-only flags (onlysaiyan,

for example) in place and they should work fine.  Keep in mind Immortals

can wear any equipment regardless of restriction, so if you absolutely HAVE

to see it to believe it use a test mortal.  


Also I just coded in a new wear location for "Floating About".  I'd like

you to think I did it for you, but it was actually just did it so the orbs

in my area would work right.  :P I couldn't make shit wear on the Light

location without actually giving light, and I don't want a bunch of useless

orbs nor a bunch of permalights.  


The only problem with Floating About is that it absolutely refuses to show

up on when you type "equip" to look at your equipment, but it'll appear

just fine when you look at yourself.  I plan on looking into this but I

seriously don't know what the problem could be.


Also another heads up, I wasn't planning on giving any of my floating orbs

armor, but I was planning on making them pretty goddamn hard to get and

then they'd give a healthy amount of stats (ie: 20 Str on one, 10 Int on

another, etc), so don't go around suddenly making a super uber floating

item that everyone absolutely must equip because that'd be mean and I'd

call you a spootyhead repeatedly.  :/ 


I should end this gnote before I ramble much more.

I finished my area! I've gone through and checked everything and works the way

i want it to...i think. I would like it if you would check the stats of the

and change them if they don't fit with the pl. Also, to link the room:

    - in the line "mpopenpassage 3518 1200 4" change 1200 to the room your

      linking it to.

    - then when you copy it to the linked room switch 3518 and <whatever you

      changed 1200 to>

    - This is a portal that only opens during the makeostar

    - It's supposed to be linked to someplace on Earth

I also made an item that will allow people who have been here to easily return.

Add the mob 3521 to whatever room(s) you deem acceptable. It will transport

the player to 3518 for a small fee(4000z). Check him out to be sure.

Beofre you change anything other than that could you please lemme know?

In order to make Android auras work right, I had to give them affected

flags.  This means you can add the following affected flags onto mobs:


T4CHIP, T3CHIP, T2CHIP, T1CHIP, OMEGACHIP, SIGMAVIRUS, CRYSTALPROC, V1CHIP,

VM1CHIP, V2CHIP, VM2CHIP


And since it's all admins reading this board anyway, I just want to add I'm

working on the following bugs with it that you should be aware of:


If you are not an Android and try to wear an Android chip, it will

permanently add the aura to you (until an admin resets it or until they

possibly die.)


If you have multiple chips in your bag and type "wear all", you will stack

all of the chip's auras in question onto yourself unless you wear and

remove each one individually.


I know what to do in order to fix these, I'm just in the process of working

out how. 


I'll keep ya posted,

I fixed the thing about the other races getting the auras because it was

easierly fixed and more disruptive if discovered.


If any of you know how to make the code check if you are wearing something

in a certain wear location, I would appreciate it.  Otherwise I'll just

keep at it.


School now.  Won't be back for a few hours.  I only continued this on the

building board because I announced the problems originally in the post

before, so any further discussion should probably be taken to Admin

Alrighty, at the moment, the general idea of the area is alright, and

I haven't really figured out the layout yet, but I'll get to that.  The

thing that's pissing me off is the sheer abundance of misspellings and

typos in room descriptions and m/o/rprogs throughout the area.  Also,

about half the rooms have descriptions of only three lines, and I've

always felt that no room should have less than four, ever, and five is

really what the minimum should be.  I'm happy that you use the word

'you' as sparingly as possible, though.  'You' should only ever be

used in the rare instance of the universal 'you'.


Example: "You'd need to fly in order to reach the higher ledge."


Anyway, room descs and typos need to be fixed, and the typos are WAY

too numerous to list, because the writing buffer doesn't allow that

much text.  As I'm writing this, I'm seeing mpechos in this room 

that read "The Damned reach into your soul, but are repeled by your

force of will."  Repelled has two 'l's.  Just one of many.


So have fun with that, then give me a walkthrough of your area when

you've fixed that.

This may have been something I've seen on another MUD, but it was quite

a handy helper when it comes to building.  May take some coding, or maybe

it once existed...but anyways.  The idea is, a configurable map option. 

With the map on it shows all the rooms around you, and the ability to type

map 100 would show an extended version of the map.  In other words

displaying more of it.  The only reason I'm suggesting this is because it

helps cut down on badly linked rooms, or overlapping rooms.  After all, I'm

sure I'm not the only one who likes rooms that cascade over and over to

each other, i.e. A single room linked to either itself in a new direction,

or two rooms simultaneously linked in different locations. 


Thats about all I have to say right now, besides I hope you consider it.

Sounds like a decent idea, but I'd never be able to code it and I don't

know if Horus would want to.


Just write down a map of the area on a piece of paper the old school way

and have notes for all the room directions and such.  Use "rstat" often to

check for errors.


Not that hard.

Looking better with the spelling and grammar, but your rooms are still

too short with their descs.  Need at least four lines, and it's really

not that hard to add an extra line or two.  And rooms like the one with

the Altar need more lines, at least five if not six.


And half of your items don't have long descs aside from the default one.

Need to get that fixed.
